  1. I    Welcome to the Vintage Power Pack Demo Kit

  3. This package includes a sampling of our effects for Cubase
  4. VST PC.  This package does not include ALL of our effects,
  5. just a few of them to give you a taste. But we think you'll
  6. like what you hear!
  7.  
  8. This package has demos of our Verb, Tape Delay, Phaser, MultiFX,
  9. Chorus, and many others.
  10.  
  11. These effects are designed to run in Cubase VST but also work
  12. very well under WaveLab 2.0 thanks to it's support of Native VST
  13. plugins.

  16. for the latest and greatest demos.  In particular, the Verb
  17. we have here is designed primarily for VST --  we'll
  18. have an updated Verb shortly which has a Wet:Dry mixer specifically
  19. for WaveLab, so look for that on our website!

  21. However all of the other effects already have Wet:Dry mixers
  22. making it easy to get the most out of them in WaveLab. In 
  23. Most applications, you would want to set the Wet:Dry balance
  24. to 50:50 for use in WaveLab, whereas the presets usually have
  25. the Wet:Dry balance at 100% since they are used in "aux" sends
  26. in VST more so than as "Inserts" as they are in WaveLab.

  28. If you have VST as well, by all means install this demo in
  29. the VstPlugins folder, so you can access them both from VST
  30. AND WaveLab.

  32. II Installation & License
  33.  
  34. To Install the VPP, simply drag the .DLL files to your Cubase Audio
  35. Vst\VstPlugins\ folder, restart Cubase and you are done! You
  36. can install the presets wherever you find them convenient to
  37. access.

  39. If you are running WaveLab and do not have VST installed,
  40. you should drag the plugins to the ..\WaveLab\System folder.

  43. III Using the Demo
  44.  
  45. We make it easy for you to audition our plugins!
  46.  
  47. We've made it easy for you to work with the demo; simply load
  48. the plug in, load in the associated presets, power up and
  49. your ready to go!  After 60 seconds the demo will time out;
  50. however you DO NOT need to unload and reload the plugin; simply
  51. power off and on the plug in!  Under WaveLab, it is not necessary
  52. to power on and off the effect, unless you are running in cycle mode.

  55. IV Tips & Techniques
  56.  
  57. Please check out the included documentation! It has a lot
  58. of great tips on using our fx in particular, as well
  59. as using FX in general.
  60.  
  61. Many of our plug in demos add resonance via feedback. This
  62. may cause clipping if your outputs were "hot" already; to overcome
  63. this, lower the volume somewhere in the signal chain -- the master
  64. outs are a good place to start.
  65.  
  66. We also suggest you load in the presets *BEFORE* you power up
  67. so you are ready to rock!
  68.  
  69. Also we suggest that you run a VOCAL through the Tape Delay
  70. to really appreciate its power.  And try your Guitar
  71. through the Phaser!

  73. V Programming Our Reverb 
  74. *** CPU SAVING TIP ***
  75.  
  76. If you have a less powerful CPU, you can make the Reverb use less CPU
  77. power by scrolling to the ER Level parameter, and setting this to be
  78. zero.  You will need to do this for all of the presets you use.
  79. You can also set the Swirl to 0 and/or shut off the initial LPF
  80. to save even more CPU.
